aguamel is the residue left after the honey has been removed from the hive. the liquid is extracted by passing hot water through the cells in the hive, the honeycomb. a process carried out in the south of portugal, it is one of the 7 exceptional products of portugal. it is a mixture of propolis, pollen and very dark honey with a unique fragrance.
